The Great Thar Sundowner is an unforgettable experience set amidst the golden sand dunes. Set off from camp by 4 x 4 jeep through traditional villages and desert wilderness. Switch over to a camel and traverse the golden dunes at sunset followed by sundowners on the dunes.








Our organic gardens and farm honour the Relais & Châteaux philosophy of celebrating terroir and authentic, ingredient led cuisine. Cultivated using regenerative practices, our farm yields seasonal vegetables, spices and delicious fragrant herbs to inspire our daily menus. Guests are invited to wander through flourishing garden beds, visit our resident cows, and even collect freshly laid eggs each morning, a joyful connection to the rhythms of farm life and the source of our ingredients.






The Manganiyar musicians are a community of traditional folk performers from the Thar Desert region. Despite their Islamic faith, their songs often praise Hindu deities and celebrate local folklore, reflecting the deep cultural interweaving of Hindu and Muslim traditions in Rajasthan. Their music is characterized by spellbinding songs, passed down through generations, and performed with instruments such as the kamaicha (a bowed string instrument made of wood and goat skin), the dholak, and the khartal.

Kalbeliya is a traditional dance form originating from the Kalbeliya community of Rajasthan, India. Known for its vibrant movements and expressive gestures that mimic snake-like motions, the dance reflects the community’s deep connection to the serpent goddess. Dancers wear colourful, flowing skirts and adorn themselves with traditional jewellery, creating a visually captivating spectacle. Accompanying the dancers are the Manganiyars, local musicians renowned for their folk music.




Ger dance performance is a distinctive and expressive art form that seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary dance styles. It often focuses on storytelling through movement, emphasizing emotional connections and cultural themes. Performers combine intricate choreography, music, and sometimes visual elements to create a captivating experience for the audience. How to reach us
Although set in a remote location, SUJÁN The Serai is easily accessible by road, rail as well as by air. Our closest cities are Jaisalmer (approximately 40 kilometres) and Jodhpur (approximately 260 kilometres) which is extremely well connected to Delhi and Mumbai as well as the rest of Rajasthan.
•By road from Jaisalmer there is a driving time of approximately 40 minutes.
•By road from Jodhpur, there is a driving time of approximately 4 hours.
•By road from SUJÁN JAWAI, there is a driving time of approximately 4.5 hours.
•By Air to Jaisalmer. During the high season there are daily flights operating from Mumbai, Delhi & Jaipur.
•Private charters into Jaisalmer Airport are possible to arrange if we have advance notice.

The early mornings and evenings can be colder during the winter months (November-February) so we recommend packing accordingly: A warm jacket or winter coat, jumpers, a beanie or winter hat, scarf, gloves, long-sleeve shirt, thermals, warm socks.
Temperatures range from a minimum of 5 degrees Celsius in winter to a maximum of 49 degrees Celsius in summer. Minimum temperature reaches upto 2 degrees Celsius in winter
SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
Warm throughout the day. Average temperature range is between 25 degrees Celsius to a maximum day temperature of 35 degrees Celsius with medium humidity. Maximum temperature reaches up to 40 degrees Celsius in Sept/October.
NOVEMBER TO FEBRUARY – Cold temperatures in the mornings and evenings with warm sun in the daytime. Average temperature range is between 5 degrees Celsius to a maximum day temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
MARCH – Warm temperatures in the evening with high temperatures in the day time. Average temperature range is between 17 degrees Celsius to a maximum day time temperature of 40 degrees Celsius in a very dry climate.
